Hi, I'm Ryan — founder of Revise Right

I grew up watching friends with the same brains, the same ambition and the same work ethic fall behind in exams simply because their family couldn't stretch to a £40-an-hour tutor. That gap follows people for life. It decides what college they get into, what apprenticeship they land, what salary they earn ten years on.

Revise Right started as the answer I wish I'd had as a teenager: a properly built, properly tested revision app that costs less than a takeaway coffee a month — and is completely free to use for anyone who needs it to be.

Our vision, mission and aim

Everything we build is measured against these three sentences.

Vision

A UK where no child is held back from passing their exams because of what their parents earn — where the kid from a council estate and the kid from a leafy suburb walk into the exam hall with the same level of preparation.

Mission

To put a tutor-quality revision tool — practice exams, instant feedback, progress tracking and study coaching — into the pocket of every learner in the country for less than the price of a chocolate bar a week.

Aim

To close the attainment gap between lower- and upper-income students by giving working-class kids the same calibre of revision support that private-school kids have taken for granted for decades.

Why affordable matters

A child from a wealthy family can have £2,000+ spent on private exam tuition. A child from a poorer family often gets nothing. That's the gap we're here to close.

Private tutoring is a £6 billion industry in the UK. Roughly one in three secondary-school children now has a private tutor — but only one in five from low-income households can afford one. The rest are left to revise alone, with second-hand textbooks and YouTube videos that were never designed for their exam board.

Revise Right is deliberately priced so that cost is never the reason a young person fails. The full app — every subject, every question bank, every practice exam — is free to use. We charge a small optional subscription to remove ads and unlock unlimited daily practice, and that one subscription is what funds the whole platform for everyone else.

We don't pay for influencer ads. We don't sell user data. We don't gate the answer explanations behind a paywall. Every pound that comes in goes back into writing more questions, supporting more subjects, and keeping the lights on for the kids who can't pay.
